Choreographer Mark Morris gained international fame for "L’Allegro, il Penseroso ed il Moderato," set to Handel’s Baroque masterpiece featuring a colorful array of dancers that embody the ecstasy of art that transforms. A premiere work by Mark Morris as Director of Dance at the Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie in Brussels, Belgium in 1988, "L'Allegro" has been performed to critical and audience acclaim all over the world and has received the prestigious Laurence Olivier Award, "L’Allegro" uses John Milton’s text and features sets inspired by William Blake’s later watercolors. Recorded at Teatro Real, Madrid in July 2014.
