The Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra's 2020 Christmas Matinee concert is led by Finnish conductor Klaus Mäkelä. He guides the orchestra in two masterpieces of orchestral music, taking audiences on a journey over land and sea. Beethoven’s atmospheric Pastoral Symphony portrays a series of events in nature and Debussy took the concept of program music to a whole new level composing three colorful ‘symphonic sketches’ which form La mer.
